Manuscripts Image Puzzles - 10/19

About today's image

Today's puzzle comes from a most remarkable manuscript, the Liber Floridus held in the Ghent University Library. This stunning encyclopedia, compiled in the early 12th century by Lambert, Canon of St. Omer, is that rarest of things - an autograph copy from a known author produced roughly 900 years ago. The full manuscript can be viewed here. For those wishing to know more about the manuscript, its author, and its context, please visit the rich information pages provided here by the Ghent University Library.
